Advantages and disadvantages of LTE

There are several advantages and disadvantages of Long Term Evolution (LTE) compared to existing 3G network. The first and also the main advantage of LTE is it decrease the traffic communications while sending data. LTE also allows more users to use the same frequency in a cell, which resulting in increment of Mobile Broadband users. The third advantage is LTE offers faster data rate transfer which in higher download and upload rate, When the rates is increase, it will also reduce the problem of lagging in internet connection.

Besides that, LTE also supports more data capacity because it focuses on VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol). It also facilitates the current applications to perform on better speed as well as for the new mobile applications. LTE separates frequencies into different channel in order to protect the disturbance of each channel. Moreover, the LTE also support voice and SMS text messaging using existing networks via Generic Access, and also allows wireless broadband provides to transition to this new technology without rebuilding entire networks from the ground up.

However, there are disadvantages of LTE too. This Technology need the usage of additional antennas at network base stations for data transmission. This increase the cost for the users to buy a new cell phones to make use of new network infrastructure. The start up cost of service provider also high in order to upgrades the equipment and there some new highly cost equipment need to be installed too.
